Four dead in horror smash in Navarre, near Ararat

Four people have died in a two-car crash north of Ararat on Saturday.

Police and emergency services are at the scene in Baines Road, Navarre.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said it was understood the crash happened about 6pm.

"Four people, who are yet to be identified, have been confirmed deceased at the scene," she said.

"The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated."
