The work for deepening of ponds is being undertaken as part of the ongoing Sujalam Sufalam Water Conservation Campaign – 2018.

Nearly 4,000 JCB machines and 10,000 tractors have been deployed for the work. The Bhadbhut barrage downstream SSP Dam on the Narmada River and Desalination Plant with capacity to produce 10-crore litre per day potable water near Jodiya in Jamnagar district are the two major water conservation projects on the anvil.

In Kheda district alone nearly 50 lakes will be deepened during the month of May.  For the purpose private donors will spend  Rs 192.78 lakh while under the MANREGA scheme works worth of Rs. 668-lakh would be spent. The cost includes revival of two rivers also.
