Indore: City crime branch on Friday arrested four persons while they were selling IPL tickets in black market at double the price. The youths were trying to sell tickets through social media. Nine tickets were recovered from them. DIG Harinarayanachari Mishra instructed crime branch officials to keep an eye on the persons involved in black marketing of IPL match played at Holkar stadium.
After the instruction, SP (headquarter) Mohammad Usuf Qureshi and ASP (crime) Amarendra Singh constituted a team to trace the people involved in selling tickets illegally. The match was being played between Kings Eleven Punjab and Mumbai Indians on Friday. The police team swung into action when told that youths were selling tickets of Rs 2000 for Rs 4000 after uploading the images of the tickets on WhatsApp and other social media sites.
Crime branch team later contacted them posing as buyers. The accused told them that they can provide nine tickets at double price. The team arrested a person from Bhanwarkuran area while three youths were arrested from MG Road area. The accused were identified as Vikas Trivedi of Shahdol district who stays at Mahalaxmi Nagar in the city, Girish Makhija of Palsikar Colony, Nitin Chhabra of Triveni Colony and Nikhil Dhemlani of Kranti Kriplani Nagar.
