1 killed, 1 hurt in JSpur road mishap

In a road mishap, one was killed and another injured at Gadaharishpur village under Erasama block on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Suryakanta Bera and injured Chandra Kanta Mandal.

Both are from Siali village under Padmapur Panchayat in Erasama block.

Reports said that both were riding a bike towards Gadaharishpur when a stone laden truck hit them from the front. The duo sustained severe injuries on the spot. Locals rescued them from the spot and sent to the District Headquarters Hospital but after their condition turned critical, the duo was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack. Suryakanta succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested the driver and seized the vehicle.
