Thane Metro DPR to be ready in 2 months

NAGPUR: The detailed project report (DPR) of Thane Metro will be ready in another two months. The DPR will be submitted to the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), which had asked MahaMetro to prepare the same.
Brijesh Dixit, managing director of MahaMetro, said, “The total length of the Metro will be around 30km. The cost is being calculated and will be known only when the DPR is ready. There is an underground stretch of 1 to 1.5 km, which will increase the figure.”

TMC had asked MahaMetro to prepare the DPR three months ago. MahaMetro has stationed its team in Thane for doing the necessary surveys. It also taking help of its general consultant, Rites (a ministry of railways undertaking) and some other agencies.

Dixit said that TMC has decided to appoint MahaMetro for executing the project too. “However, the final decision in this regard will be taken by the state government,” he added.
