Congress president Rahul Gandhi today appointed Danasari Anasuya as the general secretary of the party's women wing All India Mahila Congress (AIMC).
Fathima Rosna has been appointed as the secretary of the AIMC, the party said in a statement released by its general secretary Ashok Gehlot.
Anasuya is a former MLA from Telangana.
Sushmita Dev, the MP from Silchar in Assam, is the current president of the AIMC.
In an another statement, the Congress announced that Miani Dalbot Shira will be its candidate for the Ampati assembly by-election in Meghalaya. Gandhi today approved her candidature.
