Government’s initiative to make barren land agricultural

The Uttar Pradesh Government has taken an initiative to make the barren land agricultural as effort is that no district is left with barren land. To attain this, officers have been asked to implement ;and improvement policy.

Minister of State for Parti Bhumi Vikas (Independent Charge), Upendra Tiwari said that land improvement programme is operating in 11 districts of the state including Kanpur Dehat, Fatehpur, Etawah, Auraiya, Ferozabad, Barabanki, Kaushambi, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, Jaunpur and Sultanpur. He said that more than 30,000 farmers were benefitted by treating 19,199 hectares of ravine land in these districts.

He said that about Rs. 33 crore was spent in treating the barren land of these 11 districts.
