Produced locally at the BMW Group facility in Chennai, the all-new second generation Mini Countryman has been launched in India. Deliveries for the vehicle will begin in June 2018 and it will be available in both petrol and diesel variants.

MINI Countryman β What you need to know
The new Mini Countryman takes the iconic Mini design language and mixes it up with a bit of added functionality. It has that unmistakeable look to it that certifies it as a Mini, however thanks to its size, you just know that this is a product that is destined for longer drives and is ideal for touring. The design has it all, including the upright rear lights, hexagonal radiator grille, large headlamps with a rounded LED contour and roof rails.
The cabin is quite roomy, in fact the Countryman is the roomiest Mini available in the market. Even compared to its predecessor, the new Countryman is 20 centimetres longer and 3 centimetres wider. The increase in space ensures that five adults can sit comfortably and have ample room for luggage. The cabin itself is well kitted out and you get that typical Mini flair to the design as well. This includes the circular instrument panel with a surrounded LED ring with a either a 6.5 inch or 8.8 inch touchscreen that gives you access to a plethora of functions including the easy operation of multimedia or smartphone access. The Mini Countryman also offers an electric seat adjustment with memory function and you also get a 450 litre boot which can be increased to 1,309 litres with the rear seat folded down.
Powering the all-new Mini Countryman is an all-new range of petrol and diesel engines developed from the latest Mini TwinPower Turbo Technology and they are touted to offer outstanding performance and efficiency. The 2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with TwinPower Turbo Technology makes the Mini Countryman Cooper S delivers a peak output of 192 hp and a maximum torque of 280 Nm torque. It is capable of powering the Countryman from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 225 km/h. The Mini Countryman Cooper SD 4-cylinder diesel engine generates a peak output of 190 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm torque. It does the 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.7 seconds and can touch a top speed of 220 km/h. Both variants get an 8 speed automatic transmission as standard, however the Mini Countryman Cooper S JCW gets paddleshifts to make for even sportier driving. To enhance the overall driving experience, the Mini Countryman is offered with multiple driving modes that include Sport and Green mode and you also get a number of driver assistance systems such as cruise control, park assistant, rear view camera and head-up display.
Safety features on the new Mini Countryman include ABS, corner brake control, run-flat tyres, dynamic stability control and front and passenger airbags as standard.
The two petrol variants include the Mini Countryman Cooper S and Mini Countryman Cooper S JCW Inspired while the diesel variant includes the Mini Countryman Cooper SD. These variants are priced at INR 34,90,000, INR 41,40,000, and INR 37,40,000 respectively.
