Security forces deployed for Gomia byelection

The Bokaro district administration will deploy additional security forces to keep a tab on anti-social elements and  to combat untoward incidents during the bye-election in Gomia on May 28, informed Bokaro DC and SP.

Giving details of key dates during a press meet, Bokaro DC Mirtunjay Kumar Barnawal said the nomination filling procedure began on May 3 and will continue till May 10.

He said that scrutiny of nominations will be done on May 11 and taking names back from the poll will be done on May 14, while the bypoll will be held on May 28 from 7AM to 3pm and counting of votes will be done on May 31 from 8 AM till announcement of results. Also checking of EVM machines is being done phase-wise besides ensuring the training of government personnel, said the DC.

He added that the video vigilance unit personnel have been ordered to ensure that the Model Code of Conduct guidelines are not violated during voting. Sandeep Kumar, Director DRDA; James Surin, Niraj Kumar Singh, Santosh Kumar Garg, Ravi Ranjan Mishra, Sunil Kumar Singh, Vikash Kumar Hembram, Saday Kumar, SN Upadhayay , Menka , Prem Ranjan SDM ,Bermo, AP Tripathi , Ravi Ranjan Mishra, DDC have been made the nodal officers to ensure proper adherence of all rules as prescribed by the State Election Commission.

Bokaro SP Kartik S said that security aspects are being looked at soon a detailed draft will be released. All extra sensitive, sensitive and normal booths have been identified ,extra arrangements will be done at these polling booths .

A communiqué released recently by the district administration suggests that officer-in charge must abide by the regulations of Model Code of Conduct ensuring that no liquor is sold or purchased on prescribed dates as mentioned within their jurisdiction ,falling which strict action will be taken against them, the SP added.
