Zinc futures remain up on firm global cues

prices advanced by 0.57 per cent to Rs 202 per kg in futures trade today as participants raised bets, taking positive cues from overseas markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, for delivery in June rose by Rs 1.15, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 202 per kg in a business turnover of 15 lots.

Similarly, the for delivery in May contracts gained Rs 1.10, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 201.45 per kg in 1,260 lots.

Analysts said widening of positions by traders, tracking a firm trend overseas amid rising demand from consuming industries in the physical market, kept futures higher.

Meanwhile, zinc for delivery in three-month rose 0.6 per cent on the London Exchange.
