Mining king Gali Janardhana Reddy, who is out on bail cannot campaign in Karnatka’s Ballari for the upcoming polls which is scheduled on May 12, Supreme Court took the decision today. Janardhana Reddy is banned from Ballari, as this was the condition for him to get a bail in 2015. Court today rejected his request for uplifting his ban for 10 days, as his brother Somasekhara Reddy is BJP candidate in Ballari, as well as cast his vote in the election next Saturday.
“There is no need for him to campaign in the elections,” said the court, reiterating his bail conditions.
Janardhana Reddy has set up a base at the edge of Ballari and Chitradurga and has been seen campaigning for his brother and close friend B Sriramulu, also a BJP candidate.
The Karnataka election results will be declared on May 15.
