RAJBIRAJ: As many as 10 persons were arrested on the charge of electricity theft from various places of Saptari district on Thursday.
A joint monitoring team of District Police Office and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Saptari distribution centre arrested them and consfiscated five electricity motors, two fan, one Television and two electricity meters, according to Chandeshwor Sah, chief of the distribution centre. The arrest is part of a campaign to control electricity theft.
The arrestees will be slapped with a fine of Rs 5,000 each according to the Electricity Regulation, informed NEA.
NEA has been upping its monitoring with the rise in electricity theft recently in the district.
