Jinnah not a national icon: Congress

The Congress on Friday said Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah was not a “national icon” and “there is no need to praise him.”

“Whether anyone from a political party or an apolitical person praises him, I want to make it clear that we criticise such an act. He is not a national icon, has never been one. Nor do we recognise him as one, ’’ said Mr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi at a Congress briefing.
