CEDAR RAPIDS — Construction of a major expansion to the Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa campus will begin this month, officials announced Friday.
A new 100,000-square-foot medical facility and a parking structure are planned on 10th Street SE, according to a PCI news release.
The building, between Second and Third avenues SE, is expected to open to patients in late 2019.
When complete, it will serve 600 to 800 patients a day, an addition to the more than 2,000 patients and guests who visit PCI daily, the news release said.
The new parking ramp — adjacent to the new facility — will connect to the new facility and the current Medical Pavilion via a skywalk.
This is the second major expansion since PCI opened its Medical Pavilion in 2013.
“The expansion gives PCI the opportunity to grow its existing medical and surgical specialty services, as well as add new specialty services, including physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain management, adult primary care and healthy lifestyle services,” PCI CEO Michael Sundall said in the news release.
“We also will welcome new PCI tenant partners, such as eye care, chiropractic services, a fitness center and healthy cafe.”
Prospective tenants can call PCI administration at (319) 247-3025 for information.
