Two drivers were injured in a multicar crash Friday after a southbound semi lost control and struck a cable guard rail on I35.

According to a news release, the semi was being driven by Dave Hofer, 45, of Huron, South Dakota. It was not towing any cargo at the time.

After the semi lost control it caused a “chain reaction” and three other vehicles became involved in the accident, according to the release.

The incident occurred around 12 p.m. near mile marker 184 on I35.

Two of the drivers were taken to Mercy of Mason City hospital for treatment of injuries.
