Raegan Wires hit the go-ahead two-run single with two outs in the bottom of the sixth to rally the Braves past Garaway 4-3 in an Inter-Valley Conference South Division softball game Thursday.

Indian Valley (15-2, 9-0) trailed 3-1 going into the sixth, but scored three times to keep the Braves unbeaten in the IVC.

Kayla Tschudy picked up the win, striking out 10, to move to 11-1 on the season. At the plate, Tschudy added two singles, an RBI and a run scored.

DOVER 4, MEADOWBROOK 3

Abby Warther led Dover a single, triple, an RBI and two runs scored, while Kenzie Holt singled to drive in two runs. Alexis Renner singled to drive home Dover's other run in the East Central Ohio League contest.

STRASBURG 9, CENTRAL CATHOLIC 8

Strasburg won on a walk-off single by Zoey Thomas in the bottom of the seventh inning to top the Saints in an IVC North Division game.

Thomas, who tossed a no-hitter on Wednesday, struck out 16 batters in the win over the Saints.

Emma Clark, Hannah Reifenschneider and Taeshauna Alleshouse all hit home runs for the Tigers.

RIDGEWOOD 13, HILAND 8

Ridgewood tallied 16 hits en route to an IVC South victory over Hiland.

Sydney Zinkon (5-11) picked up the win and helped herself with two singles, two RBIs and two runs scored, while Abby Harding notched a save and contributed three singles, two RBIs and three runs scored.

Morgan Matis doubled, singled twice, drove in four runs and scored once.

Ridgewood is 7-14, 2-7, while Hiland is 3-15, 1-10.

 

BASEBALL

TUSKY VALLEY 7, STRASBURG 0

Noah Love pitched a complete game to pick up the victory, with support from Seth Johnson's single, double and three RBIs. Ethan Love added two singles.

Jarrod Haswell doubled for Strasburg (10-11, 5-5).

BUCKEYE TRAIL 7, NEWCOMERSTOWN 1

Buckeye Trail's Jensen Helmuth hurled a three-hitter, striking out eight and walking one for the Warriors (3-15, 2-6).

Levi Kilpatrick had a single and RBI for Newcomerstown (0-20, 0-10).

INDIAN VALLEY 16, CLAYMONT 3

Braeden Lehigh homered, doubled, drove in two runs and scored three times to help lead the Braves to a convincing IVC South Division win on the road.

Colbey McBeth finished with a single, double and three RBIs for Indian Valley (14-3, 7-2).

HILAND 7, RIDGEWOOD 4

TRACK AND FIELD

Dover girls defeated archrival New Philadelphia 75-62.

Dover's Grace Wallace won the shot put (33-7.5) and discus (114-8), while the 400, 800, 1,600 and 3,200 relay squads each captured first place.

Rachel Anderson won the 800 (2:24) and 1,600 (5:26) for New Philadelphia, and Josie Pry won the 100 meter hurdles (15.66) and 300 hurdles (47.03). Anglie Wallick claimed the 100 (13.01) and 200 (26.92).

Meanwhile, Indian Valley girls won the Toby Grim Mini-Relays at Dalton High School, while the boys finished second.

BOYS TENNIS

WEST HOLMES 4, MADISON 1

West Holmes ended the season with a 10-9 overall record and 2-4 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference.
