WASHINGTON (AP) " A year ago Friday, Republicans muscled legislation scuttling the "Obamacare" health care law through the House. Now, Democrats are trying to weaponize that vote into an issue for this year's congressional campaigns.

Repealing President Barack Obama's 2010 Affordable Care Act was a hit with GOP voters. But Congress' budget experts said the Republican bill would have driven up premiums and the ranks of the uninsured. Democrats are already using ads to remind voters of that, saying it shows Republicans are not standing with working families.

Some Republicans concede the issue could hurt them. Others hope to use it against Democrats by accusing them of favoring government-financed health care. Republicans say such proposals would lead to tax increases and government decision-making about care.
