The market breadth was in favour of the declines with 778 stocks advancing while 793 declined and 464 remained unchanged. On the other hand, in the BSE, 874 stocks advanced and 839 declined and 73 remained unchanged.
The Indian equity market extended loses was trading on a negative note on Friday morning with the Nifty falling 29 points was trading at 10,650 while the Sensex was down 58 points or 0.17 percent.
Nifty IT was down 1 percent dragged by Mindtree and Wipro which shed over 2 percent each followed by Infosys, Tech Mahindra and HCL Tech.
CNX Realty was up close to 1 percent led by stocks like Indiabulls Real Estate which added 3 percent while HDIL was up 1.5 percent. DLF, Oberoi Realty and Unitech were the other gainers.
The top Nifty gainers included Bharti Airtel which was up 2.3 percent followed by Hindustan Unilever which gained 1 percent. Adani Ports, Dr Reddy's Labs and Indiabulls Housing Finance were the other gainers.

The most active Nifty stocks included PC Jeweller which jumped close to 9 percent. Bharti Airtel, Tata Consultancy Services, Hexaware Technologies and Vedanta were the other active stocks.
The top Nifty losers were Asian Paints and Wipro which shed 2 percent each while Infosys, Tech Mahindra and Sun Pharma were the other losers.
The top BSE gainers included PC Jeweller which jumped 8 percent while NCC, Indocount Industries and Indiabulls Real Estate were the other gainers.
The top BSE losers included names like Hexaware Tech which shed 7 percent while JSW Energy was down 5 percent. Castrol India, Cyient and NIIT Tech were the other losers.
Manappuram Finance, Tata Chemicals and Khadim were few of the stocks that hit fresh 52-week high in the morning trade.
On the other hand, 70 stocks hit new 52-week low including names like BEML, Chennai Petro, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, HCC, Mahanagar Gas, Strides Shasun, Suzlon Energy and Vakrangee among others.
