Union Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu has said Textile industry plays an important role in large-scale employment generation and textile is an important component of Indian exports basket.
We are doing everything possible to support the industry to grow. He was addressing at the inaugural ceremony of Indian Textiles 'Farm to Fashion' Global Summit in Ahmedabad today. He said When farmer to every section of the society will join together for the development of this field, it will be easy to fulfil Prime minister ’s dream of the new India.
Cloth will be always the first needs of human being then possibility of the development of this area is too much. He said that if khadi of Mahatma Gandhi is to be developed as per Modern world ‘s requirement then lot of things can be done in this field. The 'Farm to Fashion' Global Summit is an initiative to provide a platform for the entire textile value chain to deliberate and develop a vision for Textile Industry for the year 2035 with key focus on issues faced by Cotton Farmers, Women Empowerment, Youth employment opportunities and position Indian Textile Industry as pioneer in Environment friendly industry practices. The summit is a three-day event scheduled on 4th-6th May 2018 encompassing 17 Conferences, 3 Key Note speakers, Trade Exhibition, Coffee Corners with Experts, Fashion Show and Industrial visit for delegates and dignitaries.
