Fit-again AB back for RCB, De Kock flies home

2018-05-04 21:24

Cape Town - Proteas star batsman AB de Villiers has been declared fit for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after missinga couple of IPL games.

De Villiers suffered a viral fever, which saw him two games for RCB.

Bangalore coach Daniel Vettori confirmed the news of De Villiers on Friday and also revealed that Proteas wicketkeeper batsman Quinton de Kock will not play in their next match.

"AB is back fit, Quinton is away from this game," said Vettori, as quoted by CricTracker.

"Quinton has returned home for a wedding so he is unavailable for this match so probably it's an easy decision for us to make."

Bangalore face the Chennai Super Kings at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Saturday.

RCB are currently fifth on the IPL standings and need to win at least five matches out of the remaining six to qualify for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Chennai Super Rugbys, led by MS Dhoni, are second on the log and are tied with Sunrisers Hyderabad on 12 points.
