Two found guilty of murder in Mangaluru

MANGALURU: The first additional district and sessions court on Friday held forest officer and his paramour for killing latter’s husband in Belthangady.
The incident took place in April 19, 2014 and quantum of punishment will be declared on May 8. The prime accused T Rudresh, 32, native of Bhadravathi was working as forester in Kalanja branch in Belthangady. During his tenure, he befriended Amitha, 42, wife of Annaiah Gowda and was having illicit relationship with her. Amitha is the second accused. However, they thought that Annaiah was hurdle to their relationship and wanted to eliminate him.

After hatching a plot, duo murdered him on night of April 19, 2014 by using iron rod. Amitha during investigation tried to bluff police and claimed that some unidentified masked men had entered their house compound. They climbed house roof to gain entry inside house when failed they broke open the door. They later killed Annaiah. However, police were quick to come to conclusion that it was cooked up and arrested Rudresh and Amitha. Suresh Kumar, then Puttur circle inspector charge sheeted the case.

Raju Poojary Bannadi, Public Prosecutor said that 36 witnesses were examined and 39 various documents were produced. District court after hearing of witnesses, found them guilty under Indian Penal Code 120A, 302, 201 and 203.
