Punabs Power Minister Gurpeet Singh Kangar holds a meeting of top officers from PSPCL and PSTCL at SAS Nagar Mohali on Tuesday

Punjab’s Power Minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar on Tuesday chaired a meeting which was attended by the CMD and directors of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited and also the Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited.

The Power minister reviewed the working of the PSPCL and the PSTCL. A joint presentation was made about the overall working and various initiatives being taken by both the corporations to improve the quality of power supply to the consumers in the state, specifically the agricultural consumers during the next paddy season. In the presentation, issues such as improvement in the generation capacity, transmission and distribution system were discussed at length.

Kangar was also apprised about different initiatives being taken by the PSPCL to reduce the cost and improve efficiency at different levels. The Power minister called upon officers of both the Power Corporations to play a proactive and positive role for the growth and development of Punjab.

Referring to the election manifesto promises of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, to provide jobs to the youth of Punjab, Kangar said that 635 contractor workers rendered surplus from GNDTP, Bathinda have now been adjusted in the PSPCL and were issued appointment letters.
