Karnataka: BJP sitting MLA passes away in Bengaluru |
In Karnataka, Jayanagar sitting MLA from BJP Vijay Kumar passed away in Bengaluru. He was 60 years old.
He was contesting the Assembly election for the third time. He collapsed while campaigning in his constituency, yesterday.
He was rushed to the hospital but passed away shortly after midnight.
The Election to the Jayanagar Constituency is likely to be countermanded due to the death of the candidate from a national party.
BJP was scheduled to release its manifesto today in Bengaluru, but in the wake of this tragedy, it remains to be seen whether the event will take place.
