Bihar: Two shot dead inside railway station premises in Ara

ARA/PATNA: Unidentified armed criminals shot dead two persons inside Ara railway station premises in Ara town of Bhojpur district at around 8.30pm on Friday.
Ara government rail police (GRP) station SHO Ashok Kumar Singh said that the deceased were identified as Hakim Miyan and Pankaj Kumar alias Botal Bindh.

He said the shootout took place just beside the back of Durga temple located at the entrance of the railway station.

“At least five to six empty cartridges were recovered from the spot,” the SHO said adding that Hakim had criminal antecedents.

He said at least half a dozen persons were present at the spot who indiscriminately opened fire on the duo killing them on the spot.

The body of Hakim was still lying at the spot at the time of filing the news while the body of Pankaj was sent to sadar hospital.

The SHO said that only after investigation, it would become clear that if they were already at the spot when attacked or were called by someone after which criminals opened fire on them.

“Police have just reached at the spot,” the SHO said.

He said that Hakim was a native of Bhaluipur locality while Pankaj was native of Bindh Toli, both under Town police station area in the district.
