BHOPAL: BJP president Amit Shah said on Friday that after coming to power at the Centre in 2014, BJP won 15 states under the leadership of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi and now
Karnataka and MP are the next. Shah said
Congress cannot defeat BJP in its bastion,
Madhya Pradesh.
''Since 2014 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, BJP won 15 states including those where BJP had never dreamt of making a government. Let's wait for May 15 for Karnataka assembly results. Congress will be wiped out again", said Shah while launching the BJP's official campaign in front of a gathering of 5000 workers at BHEL Dussahera Midan, on Friday.
The BJP president who arrived after taking a break from Karnataka election campaign to motivate workers after recent changes in the state Congress said that Congress dream to form government in Madhya Pradesh would never be fulfilled. He said Madhya Pradesh is the heart of the nation and a pilgrimage for the BJP workers. It is the power of workers which can once again keep the Congress out of the regime.
"After recent nominations in the Congress it's clear that the fight is between a 'Corporate supporter' and `Kisan'. In Madhya Pradesh, Congress cannot think of a victory as it is saffron party's bastion but also that BJP here is holding its feet like `Angad Ka Paon', which cannot be displaced", Shah said adding BJP workers need not to fear the Rajas and Maharajas as they are capable to defeat them in the coming polls.
Shah also praised
Shivraj Singh Chouhan government for its development initiatives and said that BJP government helped the state come out of the Bimaru (laggard) tag. A lot more has been done and lot is required more which could be possible with the help of workers, he said.
The BJP chief also hit out at Congress for defaming Hindu religion for political gains. Shah said in the name of `saffron terror' Congress got innocent people arrested for terrorist activities but they were acquitted by the Special NIA court. The court observation revealed that Congress projected the case for political reasons.
"After defaming Hindu religion, Rahu Gandhi had used `Bhagwa Atankvad' to garner votes and appealed during 2014 Lok Sabha elections. He should apologise to the Hindu community for defaming them in the name of `Bhagva Atankvad', demanded Shah adding, "If Rahul will not apologise, we will take this issue to the public with a clear message that Congress is dividing the society.
Shah also recalled how Congress is practising `politics of division' on the basis of caste. He said PM Modi had moved a bill for the other backward classes (OBCs) to get constitutional status but, the bill got stuck in
Rajya Sabha when Congress members, including the royal family members from MP, demanded to include minorities in the bill. BJP workers must expose Congress on such incidents among the public, he said.
He also attacked Congress for insulting those who are holding the constitutional posts. Congress not only insulted the election commission but, also the judiciary and the Vice-President.
The BJP president said that party must follow the path shown by its founder member Kushabhau Thakre and Rajmata Vijayareje Scindia to win fourth time in the state. He said there is no anti-incumbency for BJP in the state. Since 2003, people had been discussing about it but every time BJP won the elections.
"The word anti-incumbency is coined for Congress leaders who after coming to power become addicted to it. In
Gujarat, BJP is in power for the last 22 years and would continue to rule till 2023. MP has over one crore party members, of which 65 lakh are enrolled as active members. If a single worker campaigns for the party for five days, the party can reach up to all the voters in the state. Now worker will have to increase the margin of victory so that Congress could never reach close to it", said Shah.
He said after Karnataka elections, he would visit every district of the state and discuss with the party workers. The state leadership has promised to win all 29 Lok Sabha seats during 2019 elections and workers must dedicate themselves to achieve this target, said Shah.
