Indore: Assistant registrar’s exam to be held after 15 years


Indore: Accepting a long-pending demand of state universities, the state government has decided to fill posts of assistant registrar lying vacant in different universities. The state will hold examination for the assistant registrar’s posts after a gap of 15 years.

“As many as 29 posts of assistant registrar’s will be filled through examination,” a MPPSC press release stated on Wednesday. Of the total posts, 15 are for general category, five for SC, six for ST, three for OBC, 10 for women candidates and two for disabled.

Interested candidates can fill application forms from May 10 to June 9. The MPPSC will hold examination on July 15 in online mode at seven cities, which are Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Sagar, Satna, and Ujjain. Any candidate with minimum 55 percent marks in post graduation or equivalent degree can apply for the post.


The university officers association has been has been building pressure on the state government for filling the posts. “Finally, our demand has been accepted,” said Prajwal Khare, deputy registrar at DAVV.

The last examination to appoint assistant registrar was held in 2003. Khare was one of the officers who were selected in that exam. He said their demand for promoting deputy registrars is still pending with the government. “We hope that demand will also be accepted soon,” he said. Nearly six posts of registrars are lying vacant in the state.

Six posts of assistant registrars are lying vacant at DAVV. “We wrote to the state government for filling the posts by promoting section officers as assistant registrar several times as vacancies have hit administrative work. Now that the government has started process to appoint assistant registrars, university work will ease up,” said Ajay Verma, in-charge registrar, DAVV.
