Gary Neville is angry that Fellaini keeps dropping deep, when really he should be up top waiting for the ball to be sent to him or taken there by the rest of his team. United keep trying short one-touch passes but after about three seem to lose confidence, or have any ideas left as to where it should go next. It's really disjointed. And Bruno has stolen the ball from near the halfway line, goes past Young, drives to the D and shoots but hits Smalling and wins a corner.

No changes then. Pogba hasn't started much better than he ended the first half .
Murray goes into Fellaini with a slide tackle and scissors him (I want to say that in a different way but it's a liveblog and time sensitive), earning a booking. For just a second that looked like a bad one so it's good to see that's not the case. Fellaini up and moving fine.
Team shapes
I'd love to know what Mourinho is saying in the dressing room right now. I'd imagine a lot of it isn't fit for Ofcom standards but my god it would be entertaining.
Are you ready for more of this? They've been so disappointing that we haven't really mentioned how effective Brighton have been. Hughton must be the most underrated manager in the whole league.

Brighton are pressing the United goalkicks and so De Gea decides to knock it long. Brighton are winning every 50/50, every duel and don't even have to work to gain possession since United players keep handing it to them!
Rashford is sent chasing a ball into the channel. The goalkeeper comes out to clear it... and Rashford gets their first! The goalkeeper then fouls him - clearly - but the referee doesn't care. The United players don't even seem to care. Wake up everyone!
33 mins
United are playing this game with all the concentrated determination of a pre-season friendly. Sloppy passes, no real effort... Rashford has been awful too. He's not trying to be but nothing he tries is working and even simple bits of control are letting him down.
The passing by United is the worst I've seen all season.
30 mins
Another long range shot from Izquierdo wins a corner and gets the Brighton fans singing in full voice. The corner is sent in and it's headed at goal at the near post! Just wide! United have got away with one there!
Mourinho is raging with Rashford. Geoff Shreeves says he didn't bother waiting until half time and during the last break said 'why didn't you square it to Martial?'
27 mins
Rashford is having a bit of a mare. He keeps giving the ball away, losing control of it and now he's been put clean in on goal by winning the ball in the Brighton box and taking far too long to decide what to do with it. Instead of setting up Martial for the tap in, he waits... and loses out as the defender gets tight to tackle.
Mourinho looks furious.
23 mins
There's a nice tempo to United's passing, they're not hanging about and are moving it around with purpose, but there's no real rhythm. Like they're hitting a drum a bunch of times hoping it'll sound good eventually. The problem is that as soon as they get into the final third, someone passes it to absolutely nobody.
The managers pre-match words
Jose Mourinho
"Alexis and Lukaku are injured so not an option. We believe in these players, they are fresher than many others and to play against a team which is strong at home, is intense is probably the best team."
Who's the number nine?
"All of them
"The final is in two weeks time, there is no energy to save, I think we did everything this season to be second best in the Premier League"
Chris Hughton
"We know the magnitude of what we're about to be up against but we wll have to play very well and they'll have to have one of their not-so-good days."
Players warming up
That won't take long in this warm sunny weather! [/badjokes]
Gary Neville has been out asking fans what they think Man Utd need to next season to challenge Man City and the general consensus appears to be to attack and entertain. Is Mourinho the man for that? His record breaking Chelsea teams, and high scoring Real Madrid side suggest he is! So where's the awesome football? Perhaps it starts tonight!
Good evening!
Hello and welcome to our liveblog for this Friday night football extravaganza, as two teams battle it out over mostly nothing! That's not strictly true, as technically Brighton could still be relegated but considering their position in the table and the five point gap they have over Southampton just now it doesn't seem likely.
Still, Chris Hughton's team should be the more motivated of the two and seeing as this a home game, they might have the psychological advantage! Then again, this is a Man Utd team managed by Jose Mourinho. What can we even expect!?
Until the teams are in we won't know for sure but you can bet your bottom dollar, or alternatively your lowest pound, that Mourinho will be gunning for an impressive victory here. The noises about Pep Guardiola's champions being so much more fun to watch can't sit easy with Jose.
Team news should be with us at 7pm and you can follow all the build-up and action with us right here on this very internet website page.
