Karen Foundation for MS preparing ‘UnDraft Party’ in Highland Heights

The Karen Foundation for MS

The Karen Foundation for MS announced it will be holding its 18th annual fundraiser, the “UnDraft Party,” from noon to 7 p.m., May 12, at Harry Buffalo, 5604 Wilson Mills Road in Highland Heights.

With this event, the organization strives to expand its reach and impact on the 19,000 individuals affected by multiple sclerosis in Ohio, according to a news release. All proceeds from the event will go to the foundation, benefiting the Ohio Buckeye Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

In 2017, the organization was able to provide $12,000 to the Society in support of their homecare and respite program, helping families in Northeast Ohio, the release stated.

David Toth, executive director of The Karen Foundation, became involved with the organization after getting together with founder Joe Bradley, who lost his mother, Karen, to MS in 2016. “Both of my parents have also lived with the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis,” Toth said in the release. “I have experienced firsthand, not only the impact of MS on the person diagnosed with it, but also the role MS plays in the family as a whole. That is why I became involved in The Karen Foundation.

“In the years that we have been doing this event, we have raised over $150,000 for people living with MS in Ohio.”

The UnDraft Party is expected to draw over 200 supporters, the release stated. Former NFL player and Ohio State alum Dustin Fox from 92.3 The Fan will be in attendance as well as Hanford Dixon, the former Cleveland Browns cornerback and three-time Pro Bowler.

In addition, Emmett Golden, host of The Next Level on ESPN Cleveland, will be the emcee of the event. They, along with other special celebrity guests, will also be participating in Celebrity Bartending — a new addition to the event this year.

There also will be live music throughout the day and night and other activities and entertainment for all ages

Admission is $50 per person through May 8. The ticket price increases to $65 May 9-12. Admission includes entry to the event, a donation to The Karen Foundation, hors d’oeuvres, two drink tickets, a grand prize raffle ticket and access to the silent auction.

Tickets are available at www.TheKarenFoundation.org.
