Chana futures up 0.92% on strong demand

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Chana prices rose further by 0.92 per cent to Rs 3,587 per in futures trade today as participants engaged in building up positions, taking positive cues from spot market on rising demand from dal mills.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May gained Rs 33, or 0.92 per cent, to Rs 3,587 per with an open interest of 67,270 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in June traded higher by Rs 30, or 0.83 per cent, at Rs 3,605 per in 70,120 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants owing to increased demand from dal mills against restricted arrivals from producing belts kept chana prices higher in futures trade.
