Person trapped after car flips in Dickson crash

A woman was trapped after her car flipped during a lunchtime crash in Dickson.

The Emergency Services Agency said the ACT Ambulance Service treated a man and woman after the crash between a car and cyclist.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Badham Street and Wooley Street near the Dickson KFC about 12.20pm on Thursday.

Witnesses said a person was trapped for a short time. Firefighters rescued the woman from the upturned car.

The man was transported to the Canberra Hospital in a stable condition, and the woman was taken to the Calvary Hospital also in a stable condition.

Roads have reopened after motorists were urged to avoid the area with road closures in place.

The accident follows a serious crash in Fyshwick where a man was taken to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition after a crash between a car and a truck.

An Emergency Services Agency spokesperson said the crash happened in Cessnock Street, about 8.30am on Thursday.

The road was blocked for a short time following the crash, but traffic in the area was not impacted.

In another crash, a woman was rescued after a crash on Wentworth Avenue in Kingston just before midday. Firefighters extricated her from the car using hydraulic rescue tools.

She was treated at the scene for minor injuries and taken to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.

More to come.
