Without any supplements or surgery, this man lost 63 kgs!

Living a happy life with no ailments is what everyone dreams of. But taking things to a downfall, obesity makes one a home to ailments and diseases. To make the dream of a healthy body come true, 27-year-old Vinit knew he had to work hard and say no to cravings. His patience and constant hard work for an entire year finally helped him lose 63 kilos. Here’s his inspiring journey from fat to fit.

Duration it took me to lose weight: One year

The turning point: August 2015, when I met my dietician who made me follow a low Glycemic Index diet. She gave me all the motivation to lose weight (all naturally).

My breakfast:
Poha/two idli with sambar/dosa with sambar/eggs/sausages

My lunch: Chicken (fried/roasted/grilled/steamed) with fresh vegetables and salad

My dinner:
Fish (fried/roasted/grilled/steamed) with fresh vegetables and salad

I indulge in: I did not cheat at all for a year. I ate dark chocolate (rarely) with 60 per cent cocoa solids.

My workout: Walking and jogging

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Sambar, fresh vegetable salad with chicken, eggs and sausages.

Fitness secrets I unveiled:
Everything is in your mind, so just train your mind and your body will magically follow.

How do I stay motivated?
Looking at myself in the mirror makes me feel happy about myself and keeps me motivated.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus? I do not deprive myself of anything and eat whatever I like but it should be homemade. Eat right, exercise and be happy.

What’s the most difficult part of being overweight?
Saying no to the things that I loved to eat.

What shape do you see yourself 10 years down the line?
I see myself fit. By this, I do not mean muscular. I want to live a happy and healthy life with no ailments.

What are the lifestyle changes you made? Just ensured that I ate right and worked out regularly.

What was the lowest point for you?
When I tried everything in my power to lose weight but failed. Also, all my capabilities would be judged, almost nullified because of my weight.

Lessons learnt from weight loss: That you lose weight for yourself and not to look good or be accepted. Losing weight makes you happy from inside.
