Daytona Beach Regional Library grand opening ceremony

The Volusia County Council will host a grand opening ceremony to celebrate the reopening of the Daytona Beach Regional Library and the opening of the Rachel Robinson play yard at City Island 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at 105 E. Join the foreign policy discussion

Library staff will lead a group discussion about the waning of Pax Americana 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, at the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library, 1001 S. Dixie Fwy. Attendees will watch a half-hour PBS episode about the topic at 10 a.m. An hour-long discussion will begin at 10:30 a.m. Great Decisions, sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association, is America's largest discussion program on world affairs. Mainland High School musical

The Mainland High School drama department, part of the Academy of Unified Arts, presents the musical "Little Shop of Horrors" 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at Mainland High School Performing Arts Center, 1255 W. Learn about peculiar Floridians

Zach Zacharias will lead an entertaining talk featuring many of the famously peculiar people in Florida's history at 2 p.m. Friday, May 4, at the Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle. West Volusia Artists of DeLand to meet

Garden Club celebration
