Federal investigators monitored the phone lines of Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's personal lawyer who is under investigation for a payment he made to Stormy Daniels, the adult-film actress who alleged she had an affair with Trump, NBC News reported Thursday. NBC said it wasn't clear how long the monitoring had been authorized, but that it was in place in the weeks leading up to the raids on Cohen's offices, hotel room and home in early April. NBC originally reported Cohen's calls had been wiretapped, but later updated their report to say they had only been monitored by authorities.
