Sivakarthikeyan’s film with Studio Green is finally launched, see pic

Actor Sivakarthikeyan, who was last seen alongside Nayanthara in the hit film Velaikkaran, teams up with director Rajesh for his next project. The film was officially launched with a customary pooja on Wednesday in Chennai.

Studio Green will be bankrolling the project which took off after nearly two years of delay. Originally planned to be made in 2016, Studio Green had later announced that Thaana Serntha Kootam director Vignesh Shivan will direct Sivakarthikeyan in their banner. However, the Vignesh-Siva combo didn’t materialise and left with no option Studio Green had to rope in Rajesh, best known for films such as SMS and Boss Engira Bhaskaran to take over the reins.

Sivakarthikeyan took to twitter on Wednesday and wrote: “It’s official. Next film with @rajeshmdirector sir and @StudioGreen2 @kegvraja sir. Can certainly say that we will put in our best effort to entertain you all.” The launch was attended by Siva, director Rajesh, producer Gnananvel Raja and actor Sathish, who plays a crucial role in the film. The rest of the cast and crew will be finalised soon.

Siva recently wrapped up shooting for rural comedy drama Seemaraja, which marks his third collaboration with director Ponram. He is paired opposite Samantha Akkineni in this film. He’s expected to commence work on Ravi Kumar’s science-fiction film, which will have music by A.R Rahman, from May or June. It is unclear if Siva will shoot for Ravi and Rajesh’s simultaneously.
