Dust storm to continue for next few days in many parts of Rajasthan

MeT has issued a weather warning for the next five days for East and West Rajasthan.

Another dust storm may hit parts of Rajasthan in the next 48 hours due to cyclonic circulation formation in the region, a MeT official said on Thursday.

They issued a weather warning for the next five days for East and West Rajasthan. It said that there will be light rain/thunderstorm/dust storm in Dholpur till Saturday, while in Alwar and Bharatpur it will be till Friday. The warning is valid from 8.30am until 8.30am the next day.

In east Rajasthan, apart from Alwar, Bharatpur and Dholpur, the department has warned dust storm/heat wave till Monday in Bhilwara and Bundi districts. In Jhunjhunu, Karauli and Tonk there will be light rain/thunderstorm/dust storm till Saturday, while in Dausa, Jaipur and Sawai Madhopur it will be there till Friday.

Similarly, in west Rajasthan, there will be heat wave/dust storm till Monday in Barmer, Bikaner, Churu, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Jodhpur and Nagaur, while there will be dust storm for next four days in Jodhpur and light rain/thunder/dust storm in Sriganganagar till Saturday.

These warnings have been marked in yellow, which is Be Aware (be updated).

“There is a high probability that winds will intensify in the next 48 hours in Rajasthan, which may lead to another dust storm. It will affect areas of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan border, especially Karauli and Dholpur,” Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) scientist Himanshu Sharma said.

Sharma said the department had issued warnings in the last couple of days about a dust storm in Rajasthan.
