Says YSRCP’s ‘navaratna’ promises will augur well for State

YSR Congress Party general secretary and MP V. Vijaya Sai Reddy has launched his 10-day padayatra from Aganampudi asserting that the ‘navaratna’ promises made by the party will better the lot of the people in the State.

Mr. Reddy started in a rally of motorcycles and cars from the city party office at H.B. Colony and performed puja at the Sampat Vinayaka temple. He and other leaders went in a rally to Aganampudi on the outskirts of the city. After garlanding the statue of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy therr, Mr. Reddy began his padayatra.

He said the padayatra was in solidarity with party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Praja Sankalpa Yatra, and to create awareness on the ‘navaratna’ promises.

‘SCS crucial’

He, however, asserted that grant of Special Category Status was crucial for implementing the promises. Only SCS would get the required resources to implement the ‘navaratna’ promises made, he added.

He accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of not realising the importance of SCS.

Mr. Reddy said none of the promises made during bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh was met, and the BJP and the TDP deceived the people of the State.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy was relentlessly fighting for the rights of the State and for SCS, he added.

To press for its goals, the YSRCP had given a notice of ‘no confidence’ against the Modi government and its Lok Sabha members resigned, Mr. Reddy recalled.

The party was committed to the all-round development of the North Andhra and would continue its fight for railway zone to Visakhapatnam, the MP said.

Party city president Malla Vijay Prasad, former Minister P. Sambasiva Raju, parliament presidents Tyanala Vijay Kumar and Gudivada Amarnadh, MLA Chevireddi Bhaskar Reddy, MLC K. Veerabhadra Swamy, former MLA K. Dharmasri, Tippala Nagi Reddy and others participated.
