Sarma new Member, Board of Revenue

The State Government on Tuesday appointed 1986-batch IAS officer GVV Sarma as the Member, Board of Revenue. He was Higher Education Secretary.

Present Member, Board of Revenue Vipin Kumar Saxena, who has not been assigned any new assignment, is likely to get one after he returns from leave next week.

1995-batch IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi has been appointed Higher Education Secretary. Sethi has been allowed to continue as Special Relief Commissioner and Odisha State Disaster Management Authority Managing Director.

Mona Sharma of the 1989 batch has been posted as Rural Development Secretary. She was Tourism Secretary and Odisha Tourism Development Corporation Chairperson.

1996-batch IAS officer Vishal Kumar Dev has been appointed as Tourism Secretary as an additional assignment. He is at present Sports and Youth Affairs Secretary and Odisha Hydro Power Corporation CMD.

As the State Government hosting Hockey World Cup, assigning additional charge of Tourism and OTDC Chairman would help the State in organising the tourism sector in a better way to attract foreign tourists.

2003-batch IAS officer Purusotam Sahu has been shifted from Handloom, Textiles and Handicrafts and posted as Additional Secretary of Health & Family Welfare.

Goswami Golam Debbta of 2007 batch has been posted as Inspector General of Registration (IGR). He has also been assigned additional charge of Board of Revenue Secretary.

2009-batch officer V Jaya Kumar has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Planning and Convergence Department. 2014-batch officer Yeddula Vijaya is shifted from Dharamgarh and posted as Under Secretary, Home.

Senior OAS officer Niranjan Nayak has been posted as Managing Director, Odisha Lift irrigation Corporation. Senior OAS officer Saroj Samal has been posted as Managing Director, Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation.
