Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today launched 'MahaVedh', a mobile application which provides weather-related information to farmers.
Fadnavis launched the app as he chaired a meeting on Public-Private Partnership for Integrated Development of Agriculture (PPP-IAD) with various food processing companies, financial and technological institutions and farmer producers.
Representatives of EMAAR, a UAE-based company which intends to invest in the food processing sector in the state, also participated, the official said.
According to an official release, Fadnavis informed that 952 milk collection centres have been opened in 1,378 villages of Vidarbha and Marathwada divisions, and 2.10 lakh litres of milk is collected daily.
This has benefited 28,000 farmers, the chief minister said.
