A 55-year-old German national has claimed he was molested at a hotel in Kaushambi in Ghaziabad, where he was staying, by an employee of the hotel’s sales department on Tuesday.

The man approached Indirapuram police on May 2 and filed a complaint following which the police lodged an FIR naming the employee and booked him under IPC sections for causing hurt and allegedly indulging in obscene acts.

“We have lodged the FIR and will thoroughly investigate the incident as reported by the foreign national. We are continuing with our investigation,” said Sachin Malik, station house officer, Indirapuram.

The man said in his complaint that the accused approached him in room number 402 on the evening of May 1 and tried to touch his private parts after starting a conversation .

He stated that he was getting ready to go to the gym when the accused visited his room.

“I tried to tell him to move out but he insisted on staying and having a general talk. Then he moved forward and touched my body. Then he touched my private parts and I told him to leave. But he laughed and insisted on staying longer. I told him that I was going to gym but he again touched my abdomen and later my private parts,” the complainant said in his police complaint.

The police said the German national was staying in the hotel for the past many days and the incident took place when he was about to leave. He had already informed the hotel staff via email that he would be leaving for Munich on May 4.

“We are questioning the staff of the hotel in order to get more details,” Malik added.
