Even after a month of the completion of both Matric and Intermediate examinations on the scheduled dates, the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) is yet to begin the evaluation process.

Notably, the delay in evaluation process has put careers of several students at stake who are taking various competitive examinations of all India level.

If the results are not declared on time, the State Board students will have to face difficulty in taking entrance examinations of various universities and colleges that have already begun the process of inviting applications from eligible students.

Moreover, several schools in the city which annually conducts entrance test for all candidates to enroll them in different streams have completed their preliminary admission test process as well. As soon as the results of different boards will be announced, seats in different schools will be filled up.

According to the examination date sheet of JAC for Matric and Intermediate examinations, test of all subjects got over on April 3. According to the sources, all answer scripts are lying in treasury for over a month now. JAC officials said that the delay was due to the municipal poll-2018 while attempts are being made to initiate the evaluation process at the earliest.

Putting his stance, JAC Chairperson, Arvind Singh on April 30 said, “Irrespective of any circumstance, JAC will declare the Board examinations (both Matric and Inter) result in the last week of May. From May 2, evaluators have been issued instruction to begin the copy correction task. All arrangements at the centers have been ensured.”

On enquiring about the prime reason for the delay in taking up the copy correction task, the Chairperson further added that due to class 9 and 11 examinations that too needed immediate attention, the process of checking copies of board examinees could not be initiated.

“To maintain timeliness, we had to conduct both class 9 and 11 exams in April failing to which would have to lead to shifting of dates from April 2018 to July 2018 as summer vacation is about to begin. Also, due to municipal election, the process got little delayed,” Prasad further added.

Meanwhile, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) issued a notice on April 30 suggesting that retest of economics paper conducted on April 26 will not delay class 12 Board results.

Apart CBSE and Indian School Certificate examination (ICSE) Board results which declares results in mid May every year, numerous State boards across the country had either declared the results or have released the tentative dates.
