Westport swept doubles in defeating Diman Regional 4-1 in their Mayflower Athletic Conference boys' tennis meeting on Wednesday at Bristol Community College in Fall River.

Westport's Evan Kidd (6-3, 6-3 over Landon Begin) won at No. 1 singles and teammate Alex Raposa (6-4, 7-5 over Angus Bonoan) won at No. 3.

Diman's Adam Moniz (6-2, 6-3 over Brendan Martin) won at No. 2 singles.

In doubles, Andrew Clayton and Smit Patel defeated Noah Jean and Tyler Torres 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 1, and Mikyle Couto and Zach Rothwell defeated Jared Graham and Tyler Carreiro 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2.

Westport is 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the league.

Case 4, Dighton-Rehoboth 1: At Dighton, the Cardinals (5-1) swept singles behind Eli Geldard (6-2, 1-6, 6-0), Mike Azevedo (6-2, 6-2) and Tyler Abdallah (7-6 [5], 6-2) in this South Coast Conference match.

This was, said Case coach Dave Rainone, the Cardinals' first win over D-R in 20 years.

Case's Will Kenyon and Mac Deschenes won first doubles 6-4, 6-2.

 

GIRLS' TENNIS

Bishop Stang 4, New Bedford 1: Sailor Nordstrom and Dina Habboosh each won their singles matches as the Spartans earned this non-league victory.

Nordstrom defeated Grace Mitchell 6-3, 6-2 at first singles, while Habboosh defeated Neyteymer Monfiere 7-5, 3-6, 7-2 (tie breaker) at No. 3.

At first doubles, Caroline Downes/Sophie Lynch defeated Samari Ramirez/Janice Mendoza 6-0, 6-2, while Kassie Stone/Emily Pajak defeated Maria Cardoza/ Kasciah Mendoza 6-1, 6-0.

Bishop Stang improved to 4-4.

 

Bourne 3, Case 2: At first singles, Hailey Armburg beat Erin Reilly 6-1, 7-6 (7-5), and Sophia Miranda beat Colby Deschenes 6-4, 6-4 at third singles for Case's points.

The Cardinals fell to 0-7.
