Paul Daniel Clayton, 78, of Collinsville, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was born in Keener, Alabama on September 9, 1939 to the late Paul “Bud” Clayton and Louise Emery Clayton. Mr. Clayton was a lifelong cattle farmer, and was retired from Sola Electric. He attended Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining Copeland’s Bridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. hour of service. In lieu of flowers, Daniel would be honored if you would help someone along the way or make a contribution to the charity of your choice.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rebecca Brindley Clayton; children Donna Clayton, David Clayton and wife, Becky, and Barbara Paul and husband,Derrick; grandchildren Dan Mayne and fiancée LeeAnn Taylor, Drew Mayne and wife, Allison, Bo Doeg and wife, Amanda, Nikki Green and husband, Chuck, Anna Walker and husband Blake, Ashlie Bryant and husband, Eric, and Jacob Paul; great-grandchildren, Summer McKinney, J.J. Davis, Davis and Dalton Mayne, Elaina and Layla Doeg, Caliana Green; brother, Carl Clayton and wife Bennie; sisters, Nancy Cagle, Ann Carr, Glenda Cagle and husband, James, and Deborah Barker and husband, Mike; aunt, Frankie Sue Van Winkle; and his special pets, Saban, Ethel, and Shorty Paul.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Annette Clayton.
