Panaji: The
Congress on Thursday appealed to governor Mridula Sinha to appoint a full-time chief minister for Goa or dismiss the coalition government. Questioning the two-and-a-half month absence of chief minister Manohar Parrikar, newly-appointed state Congress president Girish Chodankar said that the Congress party would launch an agitation if steps were not taken to have a functioning government in the state.
“Two and a half months have passed, and there has been no sign of the chief minister. There has been no cabinet meeting in this period. Weighty matters have remained pending. The mining issue is left hanging,” Chodankar said.
