The Tuscarawas Arts Partnership put its best foot forward during a recent event held at the Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas, where the organization celebrated graduating seniors from Tuscarawas County schools who were being celebrated and supported for their choice to enter an arts field of study in college.
"We've all seen high school athletes sign letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level," explained TAP Board member David Mitchell. "We wanted to honor those who are continuing their arts education. These students arguably spend just as much time, if not more, practicing their craft, becoming masters of their chosen instrument or medium. The talent, dedication and work ethic of these students is something to be celebrated."
The program included art displays and performances by those in attendance.
Students honored were Natalie Bond, Kirsten Fouts, Emma Hinkle, Paige Johnson, Robbie Kaser, Sydney Mowrer and Emily Willis of Dover; Kali Harrison, Elizabeth Henline, Katie Katicich, Emily Shonk and Zoe Zeigler of Indian Valley; Anistasia Reidenbach of New Philadelphia; Regina Gonano of Tuscarawas Central Catholic; and Taylor App and Erica Hattery of Tusky Valley.
Sara Dittfeld, Fine Arts Teacher from Indian Valley High, was honored as the Arts Teacher of the Year.
