In Punjab, Amritsar's maximum temperature was recorded at 36.6 degrees Celsius while and witnessed a high of 34.6 and 34.1 degrees Celsius, up to four notches below normal, the said.

In Haryana, Ambala and Bhiwani recorded maximum temperatures of 33.3 and 36.2 degrees Celsius respectively, up to four degrees below normal.

Chandigarh recorded maximum of 33.7 degrees Celsius, four degrees below normal.

Maximum temperature in Hisar, Karnal and Narnaul was 37, 34 and 33.2 degrees Celsius respectively, up to six degrees below normal.

According to the MeT Department's forecast, light rains/ thundershowers may occur at isolated places in and in the next 24 hours.
