London – If you’re struggling to find a Mercedes-Benz that has that real wow factor – why not buy one owned by Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton?

Advertised on AutoTrader, the UK’s largest automotive marketplace for new and used cars, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Maybach previously owned by the F1 Champion is up for sale for a cool £104 990 (R1.8-million), boasting a number of high-specification qualities from 22” alloy wheels to rear seat entertainment, making it considerably more valuable than other S-Class models on the market.

Stocks are limited

There are currently 840 Mercedes S-Class’s available for sale on AutoTrader, with some models of the same year advertised from as little as £27 500, or £500 per month on PCP, shown by AutoTrader’s finance calculator and search by monthly price tool.

The car previously owned by the four-time Formula One world champion was advertised for sale during Lewis Hamilton’s win of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and the advert lists a host of luxurious extras and upgrades fit for a racing world champion.

Erin Baker, AutoTrader editorial director, said: "This is a seriously luxurious car. The standard S-Class is one of the swankiest cars that Mercedes makes, and this Maybach edition is even more high-end, featuring ultimate comfort mixed with cutting-edge technology.”

Only the best will do

“As a Mercedes F1 driver and a four-time world champion, it’s no surprise that Lewis wanted the best of the best. Mercedes must have offered him something pretty special to replace this one. Maybe it’s the new Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar.”

“Regardless, as celebrity cars on Auto Trader go this is something special, and I don’t anticipate it will be available for long. For the average buyer it might be a little pricey, but there are currently hundreds of S-Class models available on Auto Trader, and you can check what you can afford easily with our new search by monthly price tool.”
