The Commercial Taxes Department has constituted five teams for inspection and enforcement.

A press note said that in April, teams conducted inspections at 142 premises and identified deficiencies in nine cases with regard to non-issue of invoices and under reporting of sales.

In respect of dealers where discrepancies were found during inspection, ₹47.63 lakh had been collected, which included ₹40.83 lakh as tax and ₹6.80 lakh as penalty. Besides, for improper issue of invoices from two dealers, ₹40,000 was collected. The department carried out vehicle/lorry checks and ₹1.87 lakh was collected as penalty.

G. Srinivas, Commissioner (Sales Tax), appealed to dealers to issue proper tax invoices indicating the correct CSGT/SGST/IGSTE and report all the transactions in the monthly returns and to generate e-way bills for both inter-State and intra-State movement of goods.
