Ruth’s life began on December 6, 1917 in El Dorado. She was the daughter of Charles and Hettie Henry (Belt) Dudley of Oil Hill. She attended Oil Hill Elementary and graduated with the class of 1935 from El Dorado High School. Ruth was united in marriage to Delbert Hill on October 22, 1936 in El Dorado. Ruth was truly a devoted helpmate to her husband and as a mother she chauffeured her children to swim team practice, a home room mother and involved in all their activities, taking meals to her husband in the field and anything her family her needed. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Butler County Historical Society, and an avid bridge player. Ruth participated in the Job’s Daughter program as a young lady and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of El Dorado. Her life revolved around her loving family includes her daughters Janice (Tom) Cour of Sun City, TX and Marcia Callaway of El Dorado; grandchildren Lisa Cour, Michael (Molly) Cour, Lori (Rip) Miller, Christen (Darrin) Rierson, Scott ( Sarah) Callaway, Katherine (Josh) Keeling, Brett (Ashlynn) Callaway and Matt (Mary) Callaway; 13 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and her sister in law Norma Dudley. Ruth passed away on April 30, 2018 at Homestead of El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 74 years Delbert and her brother Leonard Dudley. Her family will gather with friends on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home where her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
