Ujjain: New collector and district magistrate Manish Singh takes charge of the city


Ujjain: Ujjain’s new collector and district magistrate, Manish Singh took charge from additional collector Basant Kurre, at the Vikramaditya Bhavan (Kothi Palace) on Wednesday morning.

Before reaching the office, Singh reached Mahakaleshwar temple and performed a ‘pujan-abhishek’ of the Mahakal Jyotirlingam. During informal talks with the media, after assuming office, he said it was very necessary to coordinate all stake-holders for the development of the city.

People’s representatives have a big role in Ujjain’s development and work would be possible only with their coordination, he commented.  “With the grace of Lord Mahakal, we all will develop the city together,” he said noticing that there had already been a lot of development in Ujjain. “A lot of work has been done during the Simhastha Fair-2016 too. In view of the next Simhastha, efforts will be made to do everything left incomplete with coordination of everyone,” he maintained.


The collector said important public welfare schemes and programmes of governance will be conducted more efficientlyand no stone would be left unturned to ensure availability of such benefits to eligible beneficiaries. After talks with the media, Singh met the district administration officials.

While taking charge, ADM GS Dabur, CEO of the Smart City project and additional collector Avadhesh Sharma, additional collector BBS Tomar and Ghattia SDM Shobharam Solanki were present. Personal secretary staff of the collector’s office welcomed him by presenting a bouquet.
