WWE news: The Miz remembers WrestleMania 27 clash against John Cena
THE MIZ remembers his WrestleMania 27 main event clash against John Cena as one of the most amazing experiences of his WWE career.
The A-Lister retained the WWE Championship against Cena in a match that initially ended in a double countout.
However, The Rock, who was the WrestleMania Special Guest Host, restarted the bout and cost the challenger the title.
According to Give Me Sport, The Miz, who wrestled as a heel (villain) that night, pointed out at CBS Sports’ In This Corner that not many bad guys get to walk out of the main event of Mania with a victory.
The ex-WWE Champion though insists that he made WWE bigwigs believe in him and therefore allowed him to retain the title against the promotion’s biggest star.

I have pinned John Cena at WrestleMania, and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my WWE career
He said: “I have pinned John Cena at WrestleMania, and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my WWE career.
“To go into WrestleMania as WWE Champion and to walk out of WrestleMania as WWE Champion as the bad guy that people boo, that doesn’t really happen ever and it did with me because I make people believe.“
The Miz won the WWE Championship shortly before WrestleMania in 2011 when he successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Randy Orton.

He then lost the belt to Cena in a Triple Threat Steel Cage Match at Extreme Rules that also involved his old tag team partner John Morrison.
The A-Lister never managed to regain the WWE title after that.
